What does made-to-measure mean?
In a nutshell, it is choosing a suit made to an existing pattern, cut, and colour, and having it modified and customised to fit you exactly, so that it is completely personal to you.
You may wish to choose from a whole range of customisation options. For example, you have the option to customise from the different pocket styles available – i.e., slanted, straight or ticket pocket, or perhaps you just need a suit lengthened or shortened! We invite you to come and visit us in store at Walters so that you can see a visual representation of what your final product could look like, by looking at our selection of suits where you will see the various cuts, patterns, colours, and feel the materials for yourself.
What are the customisation options?
We think made-measure-suits are so special because of how they can be styled in such detail to represent your personality and style- even the seemingly small things make such a difference! The customised options that Walters can offer, and examples of which can be exhibited by your tailor are:
Pocket styles: slanted/straight/ticket pocket.
Buttons: different colours, sizes and compositions.
Lapel styles: notched/ peak or shawl.
What is the made to measure process?
The initial consultation will be an in-depth discussion, as we finalise all your requirements, offering our expert guidance where needed. There are some important, specific measurements your tailor will need to take to customise your suit.
- The circumference of your chest.
- The width of your shoulders.
- The length of your arm and bicep circumference.
- The length of your back.
- The circumference of your waist.
- Your hip and thigh circumference.
- The length of the inside and outside of your leg.
Once these measurements have all been taken, we will invite you to meet with our tailor about 6/8 weeks later, for you to try on your new made-to-measure suit. We feel confident that, because this is such a bespoke service and our attention to detail is second to none, that when you come back to try on your new made-to-measure suit, you will be thrilled with your new masterpiece. Should any additional alterations need to be made, then our in-house tailor will be able to accommodate this for you at the appointment.
In summary, we are a team of passionate staff who take pride in our garments and the service that we provide. We look forward to working with you with enthusiasm and professionalism, to create your beautiful new made-to-measure suit. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any enquiries you may have, and we hope the confidence we exude will entice you to meet with us in store at Walters!
