You may have spotted some of our academic gowns in the ‘When I kissed the teacher’ scene in Mamma Mia 2, or perhaps you remember Strictly Come Dancing’s Anton Du Beke dressed as the Strictly headmaster?
Our gowns have been hired out for some very popular and well known productions including The Crown, Saltburn and most recently the mystery/crime film Killer Heat, just to name a few.
We have also just been approached for an upcoming Netflix series but we can’t disclose any more information on that just yet!
The Walter’s building itself has also been featured in some familiar productions and documentaries. You may recognize our shop manager, Martin, in an episode of Inspector Morse, ‘The Last Enemy’ from 1989!
The shop has also appeared more recently in Michael Portello’s Great British Railway Journeys, where Michael takes a visit to Walters reflecting on the fashion trend of ‘Oxford bag’ trousers.
