Oxford University Bachelors & Masters Gowns

A full-style gown made from black polyester spun weft or Russell cord. It has a full gathered yoke behind with long open-fronted sleeves.

The hood is of Dean Burgon or Oxford shape, and is made from black corded silk or art silk lined and trimmed with white fur fabric. A square cap is worn or for women, a soft cap if preferred.

Master of Biochemistry (M.BIOCHEM.), Master of Chemistry (M.CHEM.), Master of Earth Sciences (M.EARTH.SC.), Master of Engineering (M.ENG.), Master of Mathematics (M.MATH.), Master of Physics (M.PHYS.).

Holders of these degrees initially wear the same academic dress as B.A.s. On admission to membership of Convocation they wear the same academic dress as M.A.s.

The hood is of Dean Burgon or Oxford shape, and is made from black corded silk or art silk edged and lined with crimson or shot crimson silk or art silk. A square cap is worn or for women, a soft cap if preferred.
